Chlorine is one of those must have ingredients for your pool water. The Pool Chlorine is there to make sure that the water is safe so the people using the pool.
Like any other mass of water left to its own devices it will become a breeding ground for bacteria, algae, germs and so on. The chlorine is used to sanitize the water. Unfortunately the chlorine gets used up during this process and by sunlight which is why you have to monitor the chlorine levels in the water and keep adjusting the levels to keep the chlorine at an optimal level.
When using chlorine you must take precautions and ensure that you follow the manufacturer’s instructions for the product that you are using. Generally you should always make sure you wash your hands after handling it; always add the chlorine to the water and not the other way around; do not reuse the container that the chlorine comes in; make sure that you put the chlorine into the pool as directed by the manufacturer.
To increase effectiveness put the chlorine in the pool close to dusk so in the late afternoon or early evening.
